Attendees: Limited to 8-10 photographers plus the host (please note there is a minimum requirement of 6 attendees to sign up for the workshop to go ahead)

If the minimum enrollment requirement is not met one month before the workshop, it will be cancelled. Please keep this in mind when making travel arrangements. If you cannot attend the workshop, you must sell your seat to another participant. There is no refund.

You’ll get the Posing & Lighting and Shooting & Editing Workflows before the workshop, so you can watch all the videos in advance.

WHAT TO BRING:

Please come to the newborn and maternity photography workshop equipped with a DSRL camera and lens – we mostly use 35mm 1.4 mm ( Newborn Sessions), 50 mm 1.4 (Maternity Sessions).

Bring with you a memory card and a charged battery.

A computer is not required.

WORKSHOP PROGRAM:

DAY 1: NEWBORN MASTERCLASS:

8.30 am – 9:00 am – Welcome and introduction to the newborn workshop

9:15 am – Overview of the Baby Steps system

• Discussing studio equipment essentials
• Preparing for the session (defining set-ups and styling adjusted to model)
• Practicing posing techniques with StandIn Baby
• Demonstration of lighting techniques and setups

11:00 am – Live Newborn Session – Model 1 – Observation of our session workflow and posing techniques (Bean Bag and Dog Bed Poses)

1:00 pm – Live Newborn Session -Model 2 – Observation of our session workflow and all wrapping techniques, bed and bucket poses

2:30 pm – 3:00 pm – Lunch (Provided)

3:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Editing & Post-Production & Q&A

4:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Baby Steps 3: Marketing

• Overview of marketing strategies for newborn photographers
• Discussion of social media, email marketing, and other tactics
• Tips for building a strong brand and attracting new clients

7:00 pm – Fun activity (e.g. group dinner, local cultural experience, etc.)

The Baby Steps system covers various topics and techniques essential for success as a newborn photographer, including editing and shooting, posing and lighting, marketing, client service, and admin workflow. The live newborn baby sessions with us allow attendees to see the techniques and strategies in action with real newborn babies.

DAY 2: MATERNITY MASTERCLASS: Join us for an exclusive workshop to elevate your posing and studio lighting skills.

8.30 am – 9:00 am – Welcome and introduction to the maternity masterclass

9:00 am – 12:00 am – Maternity Photography Essentials

• Discussing Studio Equipment: Explore the fundamental gears that will save you time and money.
• Preparing for the Session: Defining setups and styling tailored to the model.
• Practicing Posing Techniques: Hone your skills in model posing, understanding the nuances that bring out the best in maternity subjects.
• Learning Lighting Theory: One, Two, Three Lighting Setups, How to use GELS & OPTICAL SNOOT

Break (12 am – 1 pm)

1 pm – 4.00 pm: Maternity Photoshoot Experience

Immerse yourself in a live photoshoot featuring two models. Explore using One, Two, and Three lights, ranging from the elegance of white light to the dynamic interplay of colour and gel lighting.

4 pm – 5.00 pm: Editing Mastery

Editing Workflow: Gain insights into the post-production process as we guide you through the nuances of editing in Lightroom and Photoshop.

7:00 pm – Fun activity (e.g. group dinner, local cultural experience, etc.)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. AGREEMENT

These Terms and Conditions constitute the agreement between you and SVC Photography Alpha Inc., located at 199 Goodwin Drive, Guelph, Ontario, Canada N1L0C7. By securing a spot in this workshop, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined herein.

2. FEES AND CANCELLATIONS

2.1. A non-refundable deposit of $400 USD is required to reserve your place in the Newborn MasterClass, Maternity MasterClass, or both. The deposit serves as a confirmation of your enrollment.

2.2. In the event of cancellation after payment, the participant is responsible for selling their seat. There will be no refund.

2.3. The remaining workshop fee of $400 USD must be settled at least 30 days before the course commencement. Failure to fulfill this requirement will result in the forfeiture of your place, and neither a refund nor the return of the deposit will be granted.

2.4. If, under exceptional circumstances, the workshop is cancelled, participants will be promptly informed. Any fees or deposits received will be reimbursed within 15 working days. Please note that travel and accommodation costs will not be covered for cancelled courses.

3. IMAGE USE

3.1. Workshop participants are prohibited from using workshop images for commercial purposes, submitting them to magazines, exhibitions, or competitions, or using them for advertising purposes. However, the images may be utilized in personal portfolios.

3.2. Participants agree that the knowledge gained during the workshop is for personal use only and may not be resold.

3.3. Participants are not permitted to film or record the workshop without permission. SVC Photography Alpha Inc. reserves the right to capture photographs or videos during the workshop without requiring a signed release from participants.

4. LIABILITY

4.1. SVC Photography Alpha Inc. assumes no responsibility for personal injury or damage resulting from incidents occurring at the workshop venue.

4.2. Participants are advised to keep their belongings secure during the workshop, and SVC Photography Alpha Inc. is not liable for any loss or damage to personal property.
